What is Cherrypicker?

A free-to-explore transfer planning tool for students at De Anza and Foothill College who are heading to UC and CSU campuses.

Last reviewed: (October 19, 2026)

What it is

Cherrypicker turns a transfer goal into a plan you can act on. You pick a university and a major, and it shows what that university’s ASSIST agreement asks of a De Anza or Foothill student, which of your college’s courses ASSIST lists for each requirement, and which of those courses are actually being taught right now.

Who it is for

Today, students at De Anza College and Foothill College who plan to transfer to a UC or CSU campus. Those are the only two sending colleges Cherrypicker has data for. If you attend a different community college, the transfer pages here will not cover your agreements, and you should use ASSIST directly.

What it does

  • Requirements from ASSIST. Each transfer pathway is built from one college’s own ASSIST major agreement for one university, with the original and/or structure kept and a link back to the agreement. See where the data comes from.
  • Multi-quarter plans. After you sign in, the planner arranges the courses a pathway needs across quarters, respecting course prerequisites and the coursework you have already completed.
  • Schedules with live sections. Current sections, meeting times and reported seat counts come from the district’s class data, so a plan can be turned into a schedule from classes that exist this quarter. Browse them without an account in open classes.

What it is not

Not a counselor, and not official

Cherrypicker does not replace a counselor, does not speak for any college or university, and does not estimate anyone’s chance of admission. Meeting a pathway’s requirements does not guarantee admission. ASSIST is the authority on articulation, and a counselor is the authority on your situation. Agreements are captured automatically and not each checked by a person, so every pathway page links to the official agreement for you to verify.

Who builds it

Cherrypicker is an independent student project, built by transfer students. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to De Anza College, Foothill College, the Foothill–De Anza District, ASSIST, the University of California or the CSU. More on the community behind it, and answers to common questions on the questions page.

How to start
