Where this information comes from

Cherrypicker is an independent student project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to De Anza College, Foothill College, the Foothill–De Anza District, ASSIST, the University of California, or the CSU system.

ASSIST — transfer requirements

Every requirement on a pathway page comes from the ASSIST major agreement between one specific college and one specific university, for a stated academic year. Each page links to the exact agreement it was built from. Agreements are captured, not retyped, and the original AND/OR structure is preserved rather than summarized.

FHDA class listings — current sections

Section, instructor, meeting time, CRN and seat information comes from the district’s published class data, refreshed about every 15 minutes. Every figure is shown with the term and the time it was last refreshed. When a refresh fails, pages say so rather than showing an empty list.

College catalogs — courses and prerequisites

Course titles, descriptions, units and prerequisite text come from the De Anza and Foothill catalogs, each linked to its catalog entry.

What Cherrypicker adds — and what it does not

Everything in this section is our own analysis. It is labelled as such throughout the site, and it is never presented as an official statement.

  • Course matching.Recognizing that a course listed as ENGL 1A, ENGL D001A and ENGL C1000 is one course — scoped per college, because the same code can mean different courses at De Anza and Foothill.
  • Counts and sequencing.How many mapped courses are scheduled this quarter, which have open seats, and which prerequisites gate which courses. These are plain counts over sourced data — there is no score, ranking or difficulty index.

What Cherrypicker never does

It does not estimate anyone’s chance of admission. It does not generate requirement text with a language model. It does not claim a course at one college satisfies another college’s agreement unless the agreements themselves say so. And it does not replace a counselor — it is meant to help a student arrive at that conversation better prepared.

Coverage and limits

5,241 pathways are published from 7,014 captured ASSIST major agreements. Agreements are captured automatically and have not each been checked by a person, so pages note when a requirement cell could not be classified confidently and link to the official agreement for verification. Always confirm high-stakes decisions with a counselor and with ASSIST directly.
