About this course

This is an introductory course to the discipline of Physical Education through tennis. It includes a global and historical examination of the sport, rules, equipment, facilities, and etiquette. The course emphasizes the four major pillars of the game: mental, physical, tactical, and technical aspects necessary to compete in matches successfully. Through the intercollegiate competitive experience, students will improve their tennis skills, increase their ability to employ advanced strategies, and increase their knowledge of exercise physiology, exercise nutrition, and kinesiology concepts underlying the development of force, power, and accuracy.
